The University of Alberta chapter of Stars for Scholarly Youth bridges the gap of educational and extracurricular opportunities for underserved Grades 5 - 12 youth in the Greater Edmonton Area.

Tutoring Session

Are you a university student and want to volunteer? Gain leadership experience and make a difference!

Have a hard time understanding some classes? Can't afford a private tutor? We offer free 1-on-1 tutoring with a University student! 

This services is for the following Grade 5 - 12 students: financial need - unable to afford otherwise, Is currently/ recently been in a social intervention - including but not limited to shelters and foster homes, newcomers, and more!


Robotics Class

Are you a university student and want to volunteer? Meet other mentors and shape the future with flexible hours!

Curious about university life? Unsure what you want to pursue? We pair University of Alberta students with youth to help them gain insight into post-secondary, the university experience, and connect over their life and interests. Our next cohort will be January - April.

What do you do? 1) Be in Grades 5 - 12, 2) Meet with your mentor for a minimum of 1h per month for 4-8 months, 3) Be enthusiastic, 4) Do your best to attend our fun and free social events!
